Abstract

This project, Robust Routing Protocol for 5G Mesh Networks in Python, aims to design and simulate a routing protocol that ensures reliable, energy-efficient, and adaptive communication across multiple nodes. The system leverages Python-based network simulation libraries (like NS-3, NetworkX, or custom simulators) to test different routing strategies and apply optimization methods for load balancing, fault recovery, and QoS improvement. The project helps improve network stability and scalability, making it suitable for real-time applications in 5G environments.

Existing System
In current 5G mesh network research, most routing protocols are adaptations of legacy algorithms such as AODV, DSR, or OLSR, which were originally designed for MANETs and not optimized for high-density, low-latency 5G networks. These protocols often suffer from packet loss, high energy consumption, and routing delays in large-scale 5G deployments. Furthermore, existing systems rarely incorporate dynamic fault tolerance, mobility handling, or intelligent load balancing, leading to reduced throughput and degraded quality of service.

Proposed System

The proposed system introduces a robust and adaptive routing protocol specifically tailored for 5G mesh networks. It combines graph-based algorithms, machine learning–driven optimization, and fault-tolerant strategies to improve data delivery. The protocol dynamically adjusts to network congestion, link failures, and node mobility, ensuring low latency and high reliability. Implemented in Python, the system simulates a mesh topology where packets are routed efficiently using techniques like shortest path computation, reinforcement learning for routing decisions, and redundancy for fault recovery. Compared to existing approaches, the proposed system enhances scalability, energy efficiency, and robustness, making it a practical solution for future 5G IoT, smart cities, and autonomous systems.
