About This Product
Online Food Ordering System in PHP Application Projects
Abstract
The Online Food Ordering System is a PHP–MySQL based web application designed to streamline the process of ordering food from restaurants through an online platform. The system enables customers to browse menus, customize orders, make online payments, and track delivery status. Administrators and restaurant managers can manage menu items, prices, customer orders, and generate sales reports. By digitizing the food ordering process, the system improves convenience for customers, increases restaurant reach, and enhances overall operational efficiency.
Existing System
In the existing system, food orders are generally taken manually via phone calls or in-person visits to restaurants. This process often leads to miscommunication, order delays, and difficulties in handling a large volume of orders. Customers have limited visibility into menu updates, pricing, or delivery status. Restaurants also face challenges in tracking orders, managing customer data, and generating reports manually. This traditional approach limits scalability and customer satisfaction.
Proposed System
The proposed Online Food Ordering System automates the ordering process using PHP and MySQL. Customers can register, log in, browse menus, add items to their cart, place orders, and make secure online payments. The system notifies restaurants instantly of new orders and allows them to update order status (accepted, prepared, dispatched, delivered). Administrators can manage menu categories, item availability, pricing, and customer feedback. The system also generates sales and performance reports for better decision-making. By providing a centralized, user-friendly, and secure platform, the system enhances customer experience, reduces manual effort for restaurants, and ensures timely delivery of food orders.
