Abstract
The Online Examination and Performance System is a PHP–MySQL based web application designed to conduct online tests and evaluate student performance efficiently. The system allows administrators or instructors to create exams, manage question banks, and track student progress, while students can register, take tests, and instantly view their results and performance analytics. By digitizing examinations and performance tracking, the system saves time, increases transparency, and enhances the overall evaluation process.

Existing System
In the existing system, examinations are conducted manually using paper-based question papers and answer sheets, or via basic online tools without performance tracking. Manual exams require a lot of resources, such as printing, invigilation, and manual scoring, which are prone to human error. Additionally, tracking student performance over time and generating reports becomes cumbersome and time-consuming. This traditional approach limits efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

Proposed System

The proposed Online Examination and Performance System automates both the examination and the performance tracking processes using PHP and MySQL. Administrators or teachers can upload questions, schedule exams, and assign tests to students. Students can log in securely to take time-bound tests online. The system automatically evaluates objective-type answers and provides instant results, while also tracking scores, accuracy, time taken, and improvement trends over multiple tests. Performance dashboards and reports can be generated for students and instructors to identify strengths and weaknesses. By offering a secure, centralized, and user-friendly platform, the system improves the efficiency of conducting exams, ensures accurate evaluation, and provides actionable insights on student performance over time.
