Members can search for books, check availability, and view borrowing history online. By digitizing library operations, the system reduces manual work, minimizes errors, and improves accessibility and efficiency for both library staff and users.

Existing System
In the existing system, library management is primarily manual, relying on physical registers, logbooks, or basic spreadsheets. Members must visit the library to check book availability or borrow books. Staff spend significant time tracking borrowed and returned books, updating records, and managing inventories manually. This approach is prone to errors, delays in record-keeping, difficulty in tracking overdue books, and limited ability to generate reports on library usage and book circulation.

Proposed System

The proposed Library Management System automates all library operations using PHP and MySQL. Administrators can add, edit, or remove books, manage member profiles, and monitor borrowing and return transactions. Members can log in to search for books, check availability, reserve books, and view borrowing history. The system also sends notifications for due dates, tracks overdue books, and generates detailed reports on book circulation, member activity, and inventory status. By providing a centralized, secure, and user-friendly platform, the system improves operational efficiency, ensures accurate record-keeping, enhances accessibility, and supports better management of library resources.
