This application is useful for document digitization, automated data entry, and information retrieval.
Existing System
Traditional methods for text extraction from images rely on manual transcription, which is time-consuming, error-prone, and inefficient for large datasets. Existing OCR tools often require command-line usage or lack integration with web interfaces, making them inaccessible for non-technical users. Additionally, many basic OCR solutions struggle with noisy images, complex fonts, or variable lighting conditions, reducing accuracy in real-world scenarios.

Proposed System
The proposed system integrates OCR capabilities with a Flask-based web interface for user-friendly, real-time text extraction. Images uploaded by the user are preprocessed through resizing, grayscale conversion, noise removal, and thresholding to improve text detection accuracy. Tesseract OCR is used to recognize text from the processed image, while Python libraries such as OpenCV handle image manipulation and NumPy manages numerical data. The Flask application allows users to upload images, view extracted text, and download or copy the results easily. By combining OCR with a web-based interface, the system provides an automated, accurate, and accessible solution for extracting textual information from images, supporting digitization and efficient data management workflows.
