Femi Hub For Women's safety in Django Python
Abstract:
Women’s safety is a critical social priority, and digital platforms can play an important role in ensuring timely assistance, reporting, and awareness. This project focuses on developing Femi Hub – a Women’s Safety Platform in Django Python, designed to provide real-time emergency alerts, location tracking, and reporting features to protect women in unsafe situations. The system allows users to register emergency contacts, send distress signals, access safety tips, and report incidents anonymously. By leveraging Django’s secure framework, the platform creates a centralized hub for empowering women with safety tools, information, and quick access to help.
Existing System:
Currently, women’s safety initiatives are fragmented across helplines, mobile apps, and manual reporting systems. Many existing solutions lack integration between real-time location tracking, emergency contact alerts, and local authorities. Manual reporting can be delayed, while anonymity and data privacy are often not prioritized. Additionally, most systems don’t provide a unified platform for safety tips, community support, and emergency response, which reduces their overall effectiveness.
Proposed System:
The proposed Femi Hub in Django Python offers a comprehensive web-based platform where women can register, set up emergency contacts, and access multiple safety tools from a single hub. Key features include one-click SOS alerts to emergency contacts with location sharing, incident reporting to authorities or NGOs, live chat support, and a curated database of safety resources. The system encrypts user data for privacy and uses secure authentication to prevent unauthorized access. By centralizing emergency alerts, reporting, and awareness features, Femi Hub enhances responsiveness, empowers women to take preventive measures, and strengthens community-based safety networks.
