Existing System
The existing system for assignment handling in most institutions still depends on manual submission in physical copies or via email, which leads to challenges such as lost records, missed deadlines, plagiarism, and delayed feedback. Even when digital methods are used, they are fragmented—some through emails, messaging apps, or basic portals that lack automation and systematic tracking. Teachers find it difficult to manage large volumes of submissions and provide timely feedback, while students lack visibility on their performance and pending tasks.
Proposed System
The proposed Django-based Assignment Management System overcomes these limitations by providing a centralized online platform for assignment handling. Teachers can create assignments with instructions and deadlines, upload related study material, and grade submissions digitally. Students can submit their assignments online, receive instant submission confirmations, track deadlines, and view grades/feedback in real time. The system also integrates features like plagiarism checks, automated deadline alerts, and performance reports. Compared to existing systems, this platform ensures timeliness, efficiency, transparency, and scalability, making the academic process more streamlined for both students and educators.
