Abstract:
Public transport plays a major role in many cities, as people use it to travel from one part of the city to another for work or other reasons. Although the existing system has been providing satisfactory services, there is still a need for a smart system to overcome the problems faced by the passengers, which include unnecessary waiting time at stops, waiting too long for seat allocation, non-refunding of balance, losing the paper ticket, due to which the passenger may have to pay the fine amount, etc. This paper proposes a smart ticketing application that provides a smooth ticketing experience. The application will show optimized routes as well as available seats. The user can see all suggested routes for reaching a specific destination. Users who do not have smartphones will be able to book tickets with the help of the conductor. The generated acknowledgment will act as a digital ticket, which the ticket checker will verify.
